Ume Maternal Line

The Ume maternal line is world renown in the Red Wagyu/Akaushi industry. Why, you may ask? This incomparable cow has become one of the most influential females in the breed and can be found in an astonishing amount of pedigrees through either the maternal or paternal side. Ume has the ability to produce progeny that perform in all facets, growth, milk, conformation, and of course exceptional marbling. Ume was imported in 1994 by Englewood (Al and Marie Wood) along with the 2nd Mannet (World K’s Group) shipment of Black Wagyu. Bred to Dai 10 Mitsumaru 76 before export, she calved once in the United States, producing the legendary "Elephant Cow".

The Elephant Cow, is one of the legends of the Heartbrand herd. She is the natural calf of Ume born in 1995. She got her name due to her impressive body mass and large feet. Sired by Dai 10 Mitsumaru 76 one of the best proven Marbling sires in Japan cements her pedigree as the elite of all Akaushi. Thus she is a paternal sibling to Big Al, Hikari, Kaedemaru, Himawari, and Hitomi!!
