This line traces back to the JVP Ms Yasuyoshi 410 cow. Her offspring have produced proven bulls like JYP Hiratifuji 402 and CHR Shigeshigetani 5. CHR Shigeshigetani 5 on the 2017 WSU Sire Summary is the # 8 Marbling bull, 11th for Rib Eye Area, and the 9th fullblood for Hot Carcass Weight.
Females from this line have put up impressive carcass results in the Marble Ranch program in Texas. Three Shigeshigetani maternal sisters to our Yasu 4’s dam have averaged 35% IMF, 16 in2 REA, and 1,000 lbs HCWT on 18 carcasses!! Multiple carcasses have achieved over 40% IMF & 19 in2 REA!!
Yet another impressive achievement from this maternal line is the champion carcass of 2019 TWA Carcass Competition. This carcass showed incredible quality with a 36% IMF and high marble fineness index of 1.44.
Also, in Texas, at the TWA performance tests of 2017 & 2018 bulls and heifers from this line has produced large REA & IMF ultrasound results with REA measurements up to 12 in2 and IMF up to 9.85%. This maternal line is proving to be one of the superior carcass traits families in the Wagyu breed.
This is an outcross maternal line for most Wagyu breeding programs around the world. They have been producing impressive carcass results and a leading EPD sire in CHR Shigeshigetani 5. A source of outcross marbling and rib eye area like this is one of the most valuable things in the Wagyu breed. This maternal line has as much raw potential as any other out there.
